Disclaimer: It is important for the reader to understand that in this website, in comparing the Jewish Messiah and Messianic prophecy as against the Christian Messiah and Christian Messianic prophecy, I will use a "literal-historical" approach to the "Jesus Story". If you have studied our other websites then you know that "the Christ" can be interpreted from 3 different perspectives down through recorded history: "mystical", "mythological", and "literal-historical". Only after one has spent a considerable time in dedicated and scholarly studies can he understand which two of the above three methods of interpretation of "the Christ" are accurate and factual. Again for purposes of comparing Judaism vs Christianity we adopt in this website and for all studies in this website a supposed "literal-historical" interpretation of "the Christ" as well as the Jesus of the New Testament. Only in so doing can we adequately contrast the truths of Judaism vs Christianity theology. I will let you be the judge of the results of such studies and leave to the reader to draw the necessary conclusions as we attempt to compare Messianic prophecy from both a Jewish and Christian perspective all the while dealing with the New Testament Jesus in a "literal-historical" manner. Now on with the study.

In order to correctly study and understand "Messianic Prophecy" it is necessary to acquire knowledge concerning what was expected by the Jewish people in their Messiah as taught by the Hebrew Scriptures. Unfortunately Christians approach such a study of the Jewish Messiah deficient in proper understanding and knowledge concerning the Jewish Messiah because of their unfamiliarity with the true Hebrew Scriptures and what they teach concerning the expectations of the Jewish Messiah as promised to the Jewish people. I want to take this time to appeal to you that you listen to what this Website has to offer in the way of information. Most Christians approach such a study deficient in Old Testament teachings concerning the Jewish Messiah and come armed with only what they have read and heard preached about Jesus and the Jewish Messiah from New Testament teachings. Sadly most assume that these same ideas and concepts from their New Testament experience originated in the Old Testament; that is not always the case as will quickly come to see in our studies before us on this website. Therefore most Christians approach such a study with preformed teachings and ideas gathered from Gentile teachings about Jesus and the Jewish Messiah and lacking such Old Testament knowledge concerning the Jewish Messiah fall prey to many concepts and ideas that are simply false when applied to the Jewish Messiah. Sadly most Christians approach study into the Jewish Messiah with erroneous teachings about the Jewish Messiah never knowing that their religious documents which have taught them such things are false and forgeries when compared with the true Jewish and Hebrew Scriptures. The result is an blurred and incorrect picture of the Jewish Messiah but know knowing this sad fact concerning their Christian religious documents they never know the difference.
That being the case I have tried to start our study into the Jewish Messiah and Messianic Prophecy with what I consider to be necessary background information about what was expected by the Jewish people of their Messiah as taught by Moses, the Prophets, and the Writings. Once familiar with this information and understanding what was promised the Jewish people by God concerning their Jewish Messiah then we will be able to proceed into our study of the Messianic prophecies concerning the Jewish Messiah and see if what we have been taught by Gentile Christianity concerning Jesus and the Jewish Messiah line up with the Hebrew Scriptures or not. We will look at what was first taught concerning the Jewish Messiah as taken from the Hebrew Scriptures and then look at later translations of them as found in the the Greek and English translations of them and compare them for accuracy and truthfulness of translation. Do not underestimate the importance of this study because without knowledge of the "real" Messiah then how can we ever expect to spot the "counterfeit?"
Christianity And The Hebrew Bible: What You Were Never Told
As we begin to look closer at Jesus and the Jewish Messiah things get considerably more difficult. Realize that the Scriptural proofs concerning the Jewish Messiah are yet below in this website and we have not looked at them yet so the following articles are listed before them in order to acquaint you with the problems surrounding Jesus and the Jewish Messiah which you will see emerge as you study the following Scriptural passages. If you possessed at this time of your study of this website the following knowledge from these Hebrew Scriptural proofs and their comparisons with the Greek and English misquotations and mistranslations and had seen for yourself how so many of the Hebrew Scriptures were taken out of context in order to force false fulfillments in the life of Jesus then you will understand why this next batch of articles are so important in the Christian-Jewish dialogue concerning the Jewish Messiah.
How To Study Scriptural Passages In Different Languages
No study of Messianic Prophecy can be complete without a comprehensive study of Isaiah 53 or Daniel and his Seventy Week prophecy. Below for your investigation we deal first with the Isaiah 53 prophecy as taken from the Hebrew Tanakh and we contrast it with the later "purposeful" mistranslation of the Hebrew Scriptures which we find in the Christian New Testament.
Next we deal with the prophecy of Daniel's Seventy Weeks as taken from the Hebrew Scriptures and contrasted with the Greek and English versions which again fail to translate the Hebrew correctly.
