SPIRIT OF G-D UPON ME (JESUS) AS THE FULFILLMENT OF ISAIAH 61:1-2? FULFILLED OR UNFULFILLED?

Isaiah 61:1-2, "The Spirit of the Lord G-d is upon me; because the Lord hath anointed me to preach good tidings... To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord, and the day of vengeance of our G-d. . ."

Luke 4:17-21 17 And there was delivered unto him the book of the prophet Esaias. And when he had opened the book, he found the place where it was written, 18 The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, 19 To preach the acceptable year of the Lord. 20 And he closed the book, and he gave it again to the minister, and sat down. And the eyes of all them that were in the synagogue were fastened on him. 21 And he began to say unto them, This day is this scripture fulfilled in your ears. (KJV)

Answer for yourself: Jesus saying, "This day is the scripture fulfilled in your ears," is believed by many that this is the official announcement by Jesus that he is the Messiah? Is this true?

Actually, Jesus only said that he is a prophet like Isaiah. He did not claim to be the anointed Messiah, but an anointed prophet. Continue reading Luke 4:24 (Matthew 13:57) (Mark 6:4) (John 4:44) where Jesus says plainly, ". . . No prophet is accepted in his own country." He even adds his own qualifications in Luke 4:18, ". recovering of sight to the blind. . ." The subject he is preaching is the kingdom, the time of G-d's Messianic kingdom and Day of Judgment. In these verses, the prophet Isaiah is speaking about his being anointed by G-d to prophesy, giving good tidings of the Messianic expectations to the Hebrew people. As a Christian believer in Jesus PLEASE notice that the words "gospel" and "good tidings" pertain to news of the Messianic kingdom, not Jesus' alleged vicarious atonement. Jesus' preaching was of the kingdom, not his future death. Read Luke 8:1, ". . . showing the glad tidings of the kingdom of G-d:. . ." Also one needs look no further than Mark 1:14, ". . . preaching the gospel of the kingdom of G-d." The very same deliverance is preached by Isaiah and Jesus.

Answer for yourself: Since both Isaiah and Jesus were both "anointed" of G-d to be His Prophets and to teach the same message then why don't we look to Isaiah as "the" Messiah instead of Jesus?

Dear one the message of both these anointed messengers of G-d is Judaic. What Gentile Christianity has made of Jesus' preachings is another sad story.
